Youth Group Retreats in Lincoln, AL
From the dreams of the late Elder James R. Jordan to the realization by the late Deacon Willie J. Wills, AFM Church of God Campground in Lincoln, AL, is a testament to the tenacity of the human spirit when led by God’s hand. Our church campground has made it possible to host youth group retreats and special events in a place where our community can relax and enrich their spirits in fresh air and good company.
District No. 2 Missionary Crusade - September 20 - 22, 2023 @7:00pm nightly
Our Creed
We believe that Jesus is God, and there is no other God besides Him. We believe that there are three that bear record in heaven: the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost. These three are manifested in the person of Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ is the image of the invisible God. We believe that water baptism in Jesus’ name is an essential part of the New Testament salvation and not just an outward sign of an inner cleansing. We believe that proper water baptism is necessary to salvation; therefore, it is more than just a part of the local church membership.
Mission Statement
Our mission is to inspire and teach young people in our churches and surrounding communities how to live a Christ-like life. We strive to give of ourselves to fulfill the mission God gave to the church by serving one another. We work to instruct families on how to love, cherish, and build up one another in a Godly matter.
Vision Statement
AFM Church of God Campground desires to develop young God-fearing leaders who will help win their generation to Jesus Christ. We hope to continue expanding and developing facilities on this campground site to meet the needs of families and youth in a Christian atmosphere.
There was a young man appointed to serve as president of the National YPCA of the AFM Church Of God, Inc. the late Elder James R. Jordan of Birmingham, AL, who was the predecessor of the late Mother Lola Robertson, and his assistant was the late Elder Billy Carter of Birmingham, AL, who later became a bishop and received an appointment to serve as overseer of the youth department. The late Bishop Houston Ward of Youngstown, Ohio was the presiding bishop of the AFM Church Of God, Inc. Elder Jordan spoke frequently in district youth services about his dream for a youth campground a place where we could take our youth for an outing, picnics, and retreats. After Elder Jordan’s departure from the reformation, the Board of Bishops appointed the late Deacon Willie J. Wills of Lincoln, AL, who was at that time serving as president of District No. 2 YPCA to be National President of YPCA. He chose Deacon Johnny Kennedy of Birmingham, AL to serves as his Vice President, who was at that time serving as president of District No. 1 YPCA, after the death of Deacon Wills, he served as president until September 2005.
Deacon Wills had caught the vision of Elder Jordan’s dream of a youth campground, immediately after taking office he begin to promote it, establish fundraises, and lead the search to find a suitable place, after months of searching he found this place forty acres of land on US Highway 78 west, which the owner agreed to sell for a youth campground. He worked tireless to secure the funds required to make the purchase, but when the purchase date came we were short. He mortgaged his home to secure the purchase until we could raise the balance of money. After securing the land purchase he cleared a portion of it, dug a pond, which is located on the east side of the building, purchase the building blueprints and graded a plot to build it. The building we are dedicating here today resides within a few feet of the original plot and the building has only minor changes from its original plans. We are all witnesses today that a dream can become a reality, if you apply yourself and let God lead the way. We are grateful to God for the dreamer and his dream.
